REAL-TIME SCORING & GRAPHICS

project overview.

PROJECTION AND PROJECTION MAPPING

World Athletics One of the most remarkable audiovisual innovations at the Qatar Championships this year was the track projection. Creative Technology utilised over 100 20K and 30K Lumen laser diode projectors to display custom content across the entire running track.

The creative team, headed up by Florian Weber and consisting of Rob Currie and Nick Clark-Lowes, collaborated closely with the CT team to develop the content and technical solution to bring the vision to life.

Conducted tests included measuring the required light levels for good image visibility and monitoring the colour of the projected image on the track surface. Development continued with projection tests onto Photon samples of the actual track surface installed at the stadium to assess the colour qualities.

We used Mercury to push and pull real-time data at the event. The data was used to enhance the athletes' entrances and projection mapping, revolutionising sports presentations at events.
